As Pet Owners our top priority is always to help you keep your pet safe and secure while you are away from home. Here are a few things you can do to help ensure your pet has a great time:
- Compile a Pet Profile. We recommend that Pet Owners compile a pack to pass to the Pet Sitter giving an overview of your pets needs and and routines - this helps to keep things as normal as possible for your pets when you are away. Be sure to include vet contact information, day care instructions, and any unique behaviours your dog has. Does your dog love a special treat? When do they get that treat? Do they get anxious? Where do they sleep when you are home? What do they love to do? The more information you can provide the better informed your pet sitter will be to ensure your pets follow a normal and happy routine.
- Meet your Pet Sitter - Virtually or In-Person. We recommend meeting your pet sitter in person, or virtually before agreeing to a pet sitting arrangement. Zoom or Skype are a great way to have a chat to get to know each other. It also offers an opportunity to set clear expectations about the care your pet will require when you are away from home.
- Communicate often with your Pet Sitter when you are away. Make sure they know how to contact you (or a trusted person) in case of an emergency or if questions arise. Let them know how often you’d like to get photo of your pets.
